Dragon scales
Break's over, back to work! Fixed a part of the hammer I'd forgotten
about, the eyes are actually holes, and along with the holes where the
handle meets the hammer, they serve as vents. Because the Smith works
with metals at such extreme temperatures, a cold hammer would cause
either the hammer or the metal being worked to shatter from the
temperature change. To prevent that, there is a firestone inside the
hammer that keeps it hot enough, which causes a glow and a small amount
of smoke to come through the vent holes.
Also started work on the dragon's scales. Started out by outlining the placements of the scales on one layer, then started adding shape to each scale on another. For the head I'm doing the scales by hand, but once I get into the body I'll need to start doing them with alphas.
