Back to work - Gryphon

After a long hiatus, I'm now back to work.  The short story of my absence is that around the beginning of the month, my dad became very ill and had to be hospitalized, so I flew back to Virginia to stay with him.  He made a full recovery and is now back on his feet, so after taking him to the beach for some r and r, I'm now back in California and at my computer.

I decided to give myself a warmup after my break, and started on a creature I've always liked as much as dragons, a gryphon.  Got the overall shape in, and began defining the anatomy in the torso area.  I'll probably be removing much of the feathered areas and adding in alpha planes instead, but I wanted to get a sense of the whole shape for now.
